Julie Gruber, AMFT
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Julie is is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is primarily from Clearwater, Florida but has lived in California since 2006. Her entire family is originally from Northern California so it isn't surprising that she came back here. Julie is married and has two daughters (10 & 13) and a fur baby. Julie got her undergraduate in Jacksonville, Florida at The University of North Florida and her Masters degree here in California at Alliant International University. Julie loves being with her family, practicing yoga, meditating, eating, traveling and being near the water in any way.
Julie originally taught elementary school when she realized that her passion lies in helping people with their emotions. Her mother is a therapist and she grew up constantly talking about her feelings, so it feels very second nature to be in this field.
She loves working with children of all ages and their families. Julie has always felt a desire to be an advocate for kids because they either do not know what to say or how to say what they feel. When she works with them, she likes to use Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. Talking about our emotions can be difficult even for adults, and she has found that using these different modalities can be helpful when the words aren't quite accessible.
Julie is also certified in trauma therapy called EMDR, which she uses when working with individuals. She will also use this when working with children, but in very different ways.
The theory of change for her clients that resonates with her the most is an emotionally based theory. Julie believes that you have to get to the core of the original issue(s) in order to help treat the current issues.
Julie feels honored that you would place your trust in her with such private and personal stories and she takes that very seriously. Thank you in advance and Julie looks forward to working with you and your family.

Dustin Adler, LMFT
Virtual Only
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Dustin is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who used his own path of pain and growth to fuel his process in becoming a therapist. Someone who finds his happiness outside and within the community that surrounds him, Dustin is always trying to discover a sense of groundedness in his own life to bring into his work with his clients. He got his Masters in Counseling with a dual degree in School Counseling (PPS) and Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT), from Saint Mary’s College of California.
While Dustin was acquiring his hours towards his MFT licensure, he was a high school counselor, developing a program to give more attention to student’s mental health needs, focusing on their lives and identities outside of their grades, and the home each student came from. This experience provides Dustin a great look into the life of a teenager, their parents, and how everyone comes together to accomplish their own goals.
Dustin’s larger knowledge and experience comes from working in a private practice setting, and managing his own practice. Through a integrated client-centered humanistic approach with focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, Narrative Therapy, and Gottman, Dustin created a niche working with young adults struggling with life transitions and their identities, couples learning how to more effectively communicate and trust each other, and most specifically, men learning how to “be a man” while also discovering their vulnerability, empathic attunement, and how to support both their needs and their partners.
In working with Dustin, you will collaboratively design a path to wellness that supports your authentic self, stepping away from the painful cycles you’ve become lost in, and regain the self-confidence you’ve been missing. This customized approach will help build new neural pathways and create healthy emotional responses to stressful, traumatic, or triggering situations.
You are not alone in your pain, and you no longer need to go through it by yourself. Dustin’s belief systems are grounded in focusing on self-empowerment, honoring your strengths and accomplishments, and fighting life’s heaviness by removing words like “fail” from your vocabulary, ultimately rewriting your narrative towards celebrating the small wins and feeling that you are in fact “good enough”.
Dustin will support you in mastering simple practices to help calm your nervous system so you no longer have to live in a heightened state of anxiety and stress. Together, you’ll break through traumas that hold you back, and develop new tools to find inner happiness and healthy relationships once again.
Dustin believes everyone deserves a space where they’re fully seen, without judgment, so together you will create a path forward to achieve the emotional stability and personal growth you desire to take back your life!
